My First GIVEAWAY! Will You Be The Winner?

When it comes to hair accessories, what kind of hardware do you guys prefer?  For my crazy curly hair, I like the single prong alligator clip (w/out the chompy teeth).  I like these because i can also clip them on to a lapel of a jacket or the brim of a hat.  Several of my friends with baby fine hair cannot even get most hair accessories to stay in their hair.

What about YOU?  Do you like Alligator hair clips... with or without teeth?  Perhaps you like the double prong alligator clips. Or do you like the french spring loaded barrettes?  Maybe you like combs or headbands.  Or do you hate wearing stuff in your hair altogether? I have an inquiring mind & i want to know!

So, Dear Reader, as you have probably figured out by this point, I have been designing & test running some hair accessories. I adore these sweet little machine stitched felt flowers.  I began making them as pins about a year ago, which are sold in a local boutique & continuously receive rave reviews about them.  Since I love wearing pretty stuff in my hair it was a natural progression to turn my felt garden into adorable adornments for my mane.

Did someone say something  about a GIVEAWAY?!  You bet your sweet bippy I did!  The winner of this momentous & maiden PuNk rAwK pUrL giveaway will receive a custom made Felty Flower Hair Clip & matching Lapel Pin.  YES, I DID say custom made, as in I will make it just for YOU... the winner.  What a prize!  The giveaway ends Friday November 5th, 2010.  I will announce the winner on November 8th, 2010.

  7. Hmmm well I don't wear hair accessories but I have been known to stick things into my curly hair like a spare DPN. Gotta love the "Jew-fro" :-) Love your designs Tammy!

  8. I wear hair clips every day, but I didn't know what they were called! I guess they are called snap clips, but I think I've heard them called Alligator clips once or twice.. I have thick hair and I use lots of hair clips to try to keep it semi under control :)

  10. I have always had long straight hair, so I have a drawer full of hair accessories to fool with. Headbands give me a headache, combs and hairzings never stay in, french clips don't hold enough hair, so I guess I am preferring alligator clips like you, without teeth. Your stuff is so cute they would be fine on a big bobby pin and I'd love them!

  12. I like anything except combs. My hair is too thin and straight to make them work.

  13. I like non-pony tail hair accessories because I keep growing out and chopping my hair. When I chop it, I can't put it up in pony tails anymore, so hair sticks and such are useless to me. But barrettes and headbands work well.

  19. I have to admit, my thoughts on hair accessories are rather limited. Usually my hair is worn accessory-less, save for the times in which I actually manage to slip on a headband or tie it back with a cute band.

This however, I'm completely enamored with.

  21. I like things in my hair. I have very thin hair, so I do what I can to cover up :D I'm partial to small bobby pins and headbands. Not those stiff headbands that cut off circulation. My Mom had me wear those things in middle school. I make my own cloth headbands now.

I love these hair clips you're making! The stitchery is super craftastic! :D

  24. I usually buy metal snap barrettes or crimped bobby pins. I find that flat bobby pins slip out of my hair. I love headbands too, metal and cloth (not plastic!)

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  26. I am one of those with baby fine hair that has a hard time wearing hair accessories. I buy metal snap barrettes and pull my bangs aside. They fall out sometimes, but work best.

  27. I think they're really, really fun to make. Working on one right now, in fact!

  28. I have dreads which makes shopping for hair stuff sort of a pain. I do have bangs though and mostly use bobby pin type clips. I'd probably buy the lapel pin ones and stick a large bobby pin through the back or clip it to a stretchy headband. Very Cute! I've been doing a lot of felt accents in my shop lately as well.
Will you be doing some darker/gothic looking ones? I'd love to win!

  32. i don't wear a lot of hair things, but when i do, i actually like little combs, because i can layer them, thereby getting more hair out of my face, which is awesome, since i like my hair long.

my little sister, on the other hand, wears things in her hair everyday. alligators, prongs or not, spring barrettes, you name it, she'll try it.
(i'd love to win a barrette for her for xmas. :D )
