3...2...1...FELT!!!!!!

These were easy peasy to knit up, & FUN too. I am entertaining ideas of how to address the problem of them being break neck slippery on hardwood floors. I don't want to cover up too much of the bottom, i.e.. no suede bottom. Maybe suede heel & toe patches? The puffy paint idea super does NOT appeal to me.... Ugly, IMO. I am debating sewing something onto the bottom. I dunno.... Any suggestions guys? In the meantime, I have started mine. Will post some photos once I am a bit further along.

  1. They turned out great!

Ideas for the bottoms - there's this rubberized stuff you can get at a hardware store that's used for coating tool handles. I'm told you can get it in clear, but I've never seen it. Anyway, highly recommended on the Knitlist for clog bottoms.

  4. Thanks for the sugestions guys! THe rubbery buttons, do they just stick on?
& they do fit perfectly! I was really impressed that they came out of the washer after one cycle (friends top loader this time) & fit him like a glove!

  5. Amazon carries it. It is called Plasti Dip (These are not the buttons, this is the stuff to coat tools).

It also comes in a liquid form - but I couldn't find clear at Amazon.

  8. Dude! That is so cool! Great job! Can you sew on suede in some kind of design, like little flowers spread about so that you don't slip so much? Like those things you put in the bathtub but on the bottom of your slippers? Does this make any sense? I'll just stop now. :) hehe.

  10. I know some places make just toe and heel suede parts for slippers - yarnies.com carries them.
How much WoA did you end up using? I'm planning on making some myself out of it! They look great!

  11. There is a rubberized "grid" type of mat you can get at Walmart in the housewares department. It's ment to line kitchen shelves, or place in the sink to keep glassware from slippin and slidding. Anyway, my housesocks I cut out some and stitched it on the bottom, badda bing badda boom no more but breakin sliding and falling! It also works great glued onto the bottom of the sewing machine peddle to keep it from sliding all over the place. You can buy the same stuff already cut into circles and sold as jar opening grippers. I use it in a variety of ways.
