Marilyn Monroe would have been 85 today.
I have been a Marilyn fan since I was a wee little Purl. She is simply irresistible.
As a little girl I loved her for being a classic beauty who wasn't afraid to be playful and tomboyish. As a teenager I looked up to her for her talent as an actress, specifically as the unexpected comedienne. I won numerous dramatic competitions emulating Marilyn as I belted out her monologues. As I filled out into a curvy young woman I was grateful to the fallen starlette for having rocked those curves in such a classy way.
